Beavers Compete at Jack Flanagan Invite
ARC competed this weekend at the unscored Jack Flanagan Invite, a trials-and-finals meet hosted at CCC, and the women's team delivered a series of standout performances from start to finish.
One of the highlights of the meet came in the 500 freestyle, where Lydia Vlahos broke the six-minute barrier for the first time — a major milestone and a testament to her hard work and consistency in training.
Our backstroke crew put on a dominant display, with Clara Walker, Ella Hanson, and Mya Thomas sweeping the top three spots. Not only did they go 1–2–3 in finals, but each improved on their morning times, showing impressive focus and competitive drive in the evening session.
Meg Gardner turned in fantastic butterfly swims, successfully applying new skills she's been developing in practice to her races. It was exciting to see that technical work translate so effectively in a championship-style meet format.
Sasha Samoylovich had a stellar day in the pool, capturing the win in the 100 IM and posting a lifetime best in the 200 breaststroke — a strong combination of speed and strength that stood out across sessions.
Divers were also on point today as Arie Black won her boards for the team.
Beyond the racing, team leadership made a big impact. Captains Amber Inderkum and Jacquie Clouser did an outstanding job keeping morale high and ensuring the meet remained both competitive and fun for everyone involved.
Overall, the Jack Flanagan Invite was a great opportunity to compete in a trials-and-finals setting, and ARC's women rose to the occasion with confidence, energy, and impressive performances across the board.
