Beavers Secure 3 State A Marks at Season Opener

The American River College Men's Track and Field team officially launched their 2026 season on February 20, 2026, at the DVC Hall of Fame Classic hosted by Diablo Valley College. Following a strong 2025 campaign that saw the Beavers finish 3rd at the Big 8 Championships, 3rd at the Northern California Championships, and 9th in the state, the team entered the new year with high expectations to elevate their standing in the 3C2A.

Standout Performances:

Cameron Mobley
Cameron led both the 800m and 1500m from start to finish. Narrowly missing the 1500m state A mark of 3:59.61 but secured the 800m State A with a dominant showing beating the next closest competitor by over 3 seconds. Cameron is sitting #1 in the state his mark.

  • 800m: 1:55.09
  • 1500m: 4:00.20

Elias Weathers
Elias picked up right where he left off with a State A mark in High Jump. Placing 3rd overall with a height of 1.95m.

Kellan Kloss
Kellan set personal records (PRs) in three events.

  • Pole Vault: 4.05m (PR)
  • Discus: 34.98m (PR)
  • 110m Hurdles: 17.75 (PR)

Sam Peters
Sam secured the State A in Pole Vault with a clearance of 4.45m (14'7.25"). Currently sitting tied for 1st in the Northern California.  

2026 Season Outlook

With the Hall of Fame Classic complete, the Beavers move forward into a busy spring schedule. Key upcoming dates for the program include:

  • February 28, 2026: Beaver Invitational (Home Meet)
  • March 20–21, 2026: Aggie Open at UC Davis
  • April 21–23, 2026: Big 8 Conference Championships at Delta College
  • May 15–16, 2026: 3C2A State Championships at Mt. SAC
