Bio
Coach Collins returns to ARC as an Assistant Coach after serving as a strength & conditioning Coach on Giorgi’s staff from 2014 to 2016. Coach Chris enters this season tasked with recruiting, player development, as well as defensive strategy.
Since 2014, Coach Chris has served as director of YBA, one of the top AAU clubs in Northern California and has played a major role in developing numerous high level players for their Varsity programs and preparing them to compete at the collegiate level. He has also enjoyed serving as the JV Head Coach for Whitney High School (2020-21) and Encina High School (2017-18) and as the Freshman Head Coach at Oakmont High School (2018-20).
Coach Chris played his high school ball at Oakland Tech High School (1997-2001), where he helped lead his team to a OAL Conference and Section title his senior year, as well as earning State Runner Up honors (2001). He went on to play his college ball at Sacramento City where he earned BIG 8 Honorable Mention (2007-08), before transferring to Bethany University and capturing two-time Defensive Player of the Year accolades in the Cal-Pac Conference. He finished his college career at Trinity International University in Illinois, where he led the team to the NAIA National Tournament FInal Four appearance. Chris went on to play semi-pro ball with stops in the Santiago League in the Dominican Republic and Deerfield, Illinois.
Academically, Chris earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from Trinity University International in addition to ISSA and ACE training certifications.
