BEAVERS DROP FINAL HOME GAME OF 2026 TO DELTA 9-6
The odds were stacked against American River College from the beginning on Thursday, as they were facing the #3 ranked team in Northern California who had the pitcher with the lowest ERA in the state on the mound. But the Beavers were not intimidated, as SS Bryce Sabatke (River City) led off with a high chopper to third that the 3B couldn't handle in time to get Sabatke at first. The next batter, freshman RF Brandon Pelechowicz (Yuba City) hit an opposite field home run to put ARC up 2-0. After Delta got a run back in the 2nd inning off of sophomore RHP Ethan Palumbo (Antelope), the Mustangs took the lead in the top of the 3rd with three runs to go up 4-2. ARC answered right back with a pair of runs of their own, one on a bases loaded walk by sophomore C Grant Fletcher (Yuba City). ARC then took the lead in the 4th inning thanks to an RBI single by sophomore 1B Luke Haney (Oak Ridge) and another bases loaded walk by Fletcher. Delta got three more runs in the 5th inning to chase Palumbo and go up 7-6. Unfortunately, the Beavers offense took the rest of the day off, as they did not muster a hit off of Delta reliever Brett Graddy. Freshman RHP Ben Bowers (Folsom) was almost as impressive, as he only allowed one hit from the 6th thru the 8th innings, tallying 5 strikeouts along the way. Delta was able to plate two runs off Bowers in the 9th to put the game away with a 9-6 victory. The two teams will finish the 2026 regular season on Friday at 2:00 pm in Stockton.
