FORMER BEAVER RAY RIOLO PASSES AWAY
In a post by the Sacramento Bee on Sunday it was announced that former American River College Baseball player Ray Riolo has passed away at the age of 59. According to the Bee he passed away on April 8th. Ray played for the Beavers in 1986 and 1988. He was a third baseman who had a career .299 batting average for the Beavers and struck out just 15 times in 211 career at bats. He hit .317 as a freshman in 1986. In 1988, his sophomore year he hit .286 and was 5th on the team in at-bats with 126. Legendary ARC Head Coach Kevin Higgins recalled Riolo as a great player and a natural third baseman.
