BEAVERS DROP GAME 3 TO FOLSOM LAKE, CANT AVOID SWEEP
American River College fell 10-6 on Friday at Beaver Field to Folsom Lake College for the Beavers third loss in a row and 5 of their last six. Folsom Lake scored in the top of the first inning, but ARC came right back and scored twice in the bottom of the first to take their first lead of the series. FLC took the lead in the top of the 3rd inning with a pair of runs off of starter Brandon Pelechowicz (Yuba City), who took his second loss of the season. ARC tied the game in the 3rd inning when LF Jackson Nichols (Valley Christian) singled home Pelechowicz, who had doubled to lead off the inning. The score remained tied at three apiece until the 6th inning when the Falcons plated a pair of runs to go up 5-3. They increased the lead to 8-3 in the 7th inning with 3 unearned runs off of relievers Kaden Clive (Delta) and Ben Bowers (Folsom). FLC added to the lead in the 8th with another pair of runs, one being unearned. The Beavers decided to try and make a game of it in the 8th, scoring three times, with C Eli Campbell's (Cordova) double to center scoring a pair of runs. Folsom Lake was aided by 5 ARC errors on the day as well 5 ARC walks and 3 hit batters. The Falcons did manage 13 hits as well. Every hitter in the ARC lineup struck out at least once on the day. The Beavers did out-hit the Falcons 14-13 on the day, with Pelechowicz leading the way with three hits for the game.
ARC travels to Modesto on Tuesday to begin a 3 game series with the Pirates who just completed a sweep of Cosumnes River College.
