SANTA ROSA USES BIG INNING TO DEFEAT BEAVERS
Game 2 of the three game series against the defending BIG 8 Conference champs started out the way game one did, close for a couple of innings. However, the 4th inning saw the Bear Cubs take advantage of an ARC error to explode for 6 runs, essentially putting the game away. ARC did score first however, plating their only run on a wild pitch in the top of the first. Santa Rosa however, scored the next 11 unanswered to earn the 11-1 win. After a leadoff single in the 4th off of freshman RHP Ayden Dringenberg (Oakmont) who had been virtually untouchable up until that point, Santa Rosa took advantage of what should have been a routine double play ball that was mishandled by SS Bryce Sabatke (River City). The Bear Cubs then rattled off three straight double, followed by a single to chase Dringenberg from the game. Sophomore RHP Kaden Clive (Delta) got the next two batters to fly out, but they were deep enough to score the runners from third giving SRJC a 6-1 lead. Santa Rosa added a three run home run off of Clive in the 7th inning to put the game away. Sophomore 2B Lance Sabatke (River City) had two of the Beavers 4 hits on the day.
