BEAVERS CAN’T HOLD LEAD LATE, FALL TO FALCONS
Things were looking good late for the Beavers at home on Thursday as they took a 5-2 lead into the 8th inning but the previously winless Solano College Falcons kept hanging around, scoring once in the 8th, then twice in the 9th to tie the game and send it to extra innings. ARC freshman starter Ayden Dringenberg (Oakmont) pitched well, throwing 7 innings and allowing just 2 runs while striking out 4. The Beavers allowed a run in the top of the 2nd to Solano but came back with a pair in the bottom half of the frame. Solano tied the game in the 5th but ARC once again regained the lead, scoring three times to go up 5-2. ARC held that lead until the 9th when Solano tied the game on a two out single off of sophomore RHP/C Eli Campbell (Cordova) who had picked up the win against Solano on Tuesday. Solano scored another pair of runs off of Campbell in the 10th to go up 7-5 and the Beavers offense fell silent in the last two innings, dropping their record to 3-4 on the season.
Sophomore 3B Luke Haney (Oak Ridge) had three hits on the day to lead the Beavers who had 13 hits in total, while also reaching base on three errors, 2 walks and a hit by pitch, but only scoring 5 runs. ARC travels to Salinas on Friday to play Hartnell College in a two game series on the road.
