Bio

Tim Bryan was a standout runner at Casa Roble High School but he really developed into an all-time great during his time at ARC under Hall of Fame coach Al Baeta.  At Casa Roble Tim was a four-year Varsity cross-country runner and spent three years on the Varsity Track team.  He set the school record in the 440 and the 880.  He also played basketball for the Rams.

After graduating from Casa Roble in 1972 he came to ARC to run for Al Baeta.  While a Beaver, Tim blossomed into one of the best runners in American River College history.  In fact, he still holds the school record in the 880, which he set in 1974.  Also while running for the Beavers Tim finished third in the state cross-country championships in 1973, fourth place in the state meet in the 880 in 1973, and second place in the 880 at the state meet in 1974.  He was also the team’s Most Valuable Runner in 1974.

After finishing his career at ARC Tim went on to run at Cal St. Fullerton in 1975.  He won the Pacific Coast Athletic Association Championship in the 880 for the Titans and was part of the Fullerton two-mile relay team that won the Los Angeles Times Invitational and the Sunkist Invitational in 1975.

Tim has remained active since his college days by playing for several of his company softball teams throughout the 70’s and 80’s.  He completed the California International Marathon in 1984, has been active in scuba diving and mountain climbing.  He summited the east face of Mt. Whitney.  He has also taken up golf, fishing, gardening and hiking.  Tim has also given back to the community as an Easter Seals volunteer and a Special Olympics Coach.  He has also been an assistant track coach at his alma mater, Casa Roble High School.  Tim and his wife Susan married in 1977. They have two children, Christopher and Angela, and a grandson, Mickal.
