Bio

Anne Scott (Schmollinger) finished her swimming career at ARC in 2008 yet still holds several school records.  She came to American River after graduating from Bainbridge Island High School in Washington where she was the Washington State Girls Water Polo MVP in 2005.  She earned All-American honors as well.  She also won the state swimming 50 and 100 yard freestyle events in back-to-back years, 2005 and 2006.

After her stellar high school career Anne came to ARC to swim and play water polo for Bethani Black and her sister, assistant coach Rachel Ruano.  While at ARC Anne was equally talented in both swimming and water polo.  She was a two-time All-American in Water Polo.  In 2006 she scored 121 goals, a mark that is still 3rd all-time in school history, while leading her team to a 2nd place finish in the state championships.  She still owns the school record with 122 steals that year and is 2nd in school history with 43 assists.

As a swimmer she set state records in the 50, 100, and 200 yard freestyle.  Her 200 yard mark of 1:50.34 still stands as the state record 19 years later. Her 50 yard mark of 23.59 and 100 yard time of 50.36 are still school records.  In 2007 She helped the Beavers to the BIG 8 Conference Championship as well as a 2nd place finish at the State Meet.  She graduated with her A.A. degree in Sociology.

Once her ARC career was finished Anne moved on to Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles where she continued to excel in both water polo and swim.  At LMU Anne was the 2009 Western Water Polo Association Newcomer of the Year and was named 1st team all-conference.  In 2010 she was named the WWPA Player of the Year.  As a swimmer Anne was a two-time Swimmer of the Year and led the Lions to a 2nd place finish in the Pacific Coast Swim Conference in 2009 and a 4th place finish at the NCAA National Meet in 2010.  Anne went on to play professional water polo in Spain for Escuela Waterpolo Zaragoza in 2010 and 11.

Now that her days in the pool are over, Anne resides in the San Diego area where she is married to Craig Schmollinger.  She and Craig have two children, Calvin and Brooke.  Anne is an Executive Administrator with the company Leading Factors and enjoys gardening and DIY projects in her free time.
