Coach Mark Giorgi is entering his 19th season as Head Coach at American River College.  During his tenure with the Beavers, he has helped the players bring home four Big-8 conference championships, five CCCAA Sweet-Sixteen appearances, two Elite-Eight appearances, and one hard fought State Championship Runner-Up, in 2004.  Coach Giorgi’s teams are known for hard-nosed man-to-man defense, being ranked in the Top-10 nine times since 1998.  Additionally, Coach Giorgi’s matriculation rate continues to be one of the best in the area as he has helped over 50 ARC players move on to the four-year level, and over 65 of his players have gone on to the university and professional levels since his coaching debut in 1991.

Mark is a Northern California native, graduating from Healdsburg High School in 1986, where he played three years at the Varsity level, being named to the All-Nor Cal team his senior year.  He went on to play at nearby Santa Rosa Junior College and was named a CCCAA All-State player in 1988.  He continued his basketball career by accepting a full-ride scholarship to the University of Tulsa, where he earned the title of Team Captain his senior season.  After graduating from UT with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Mark proceeded to get his Master of Arts in Physical Education and Coaching at St. Mary’s College in Moraga.

In 1994, Coach Giorgi also spent six months in Nice, France as a player/coach for the French National Baseball Team.  He currently resides in Roseville with his wife of 15-years, Marnie, their son Jase and daughter Jonna.
